Introduction:
This 5 day (plus pre-learning) Level 2 Certificate for Security Officers course in Rochester, Medway, Kent, meets the new (2025) requirements of the SIA for Door supervisor licensing purposes.
The Security Officer training course is a must for anyone who wants to get a Security Guard SIA Licence and work legally as a Security Guard in the UK.

The new 2025 Security Officer course consists of 3 Units:
Unit 1: Principles of Working in the Private Security Industry
Unit 2: Principles of Working as a Security Officer In The Private Security Industry
Unit 3: Application of Conflict Management in the Private Security Industry
Emergency First Aid at Work (Security):
In addition to the units above, all SIA Security Officers are now required to have a valid Emergency First Aid at Work (Security) certificate or equivalent PRIOR to attending Security Officer training. This is offered as day one of the course to meet the SIA and awarding body requirements.
Student Requirements:
English language: The SIA criteria requires all students to have a good command of the English language as it is likely that they will be required to resolve conflict or contact the emergency services in the course of their work and all assessments are in English.
As a guide, candidates should have learning skills to the equivalent of the following:
A B1 Level qualification on the Home Office’s list of recognised English tests and qualifications
An ESOL qualification at level 1 (Ofqual) if taken in England or SCQCF level 5 or 6 if taken in Scotland
Functional Skills level 1 in English
SQA Core Skills at SCQF level 5 or 6

Pre Learning:
All SIA Security Officers are now required to have completed the ACT on-line terror threat awareness training PRIOR to attending Top up training. On arrival and prior to any training taking place, learners will need to show proof that they have the following on-line training:
- Terror Threat Awareness – Valid ACT Awareness & ACT Security Certificates (Orange and Blue). This is a free online course which can be accessed here: https://www.protectuk.police.uk/catalogue
The Terror Threat Awareness courses MUST be completed prior to attending the course, if you have not completed this prior to attending the course, you will be turned away.
In addition to the above all candidates will be required to complete a pre-learning pack which will be assessed on day one of the course.
Certification:
The course is recognised by the SIA, successful completion of all 3 units and associated exams (Practical and Theory) leads to a Level 2 Award for security officers as required by the new (2025) SIA licensing requirements

The course cost includes a free re-sit for any exams failed.
