Emergency First Aid at Work
Our Emergency First Aid at Work training course meets the requirements of the HSE as required by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, allowing individuals to fulfil the role of an Emergency First Aider in the Workplace; Look after the first aid arrangements within the workplace/area, administer basic Emergency First Aid and liaise with the Emergency Services.

This one day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) training course is suitable for small/medium low risk companies with fewer than 50 employees where a nominated person is required to take charge during a first aid incident, or in larger/high risk areas to support First Aiders.
For larger and higher risk work places our First Aid at Work course may be more appropriate
Emergency First Aid at Work – Topic areas covered:
- Basic Life Support – (CPR) including use of a defibrillator (AED)
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty
- Incident, accident and casualty management
- Primary and Secondary surveys
- Shock, Controlling bleeds
- Common work place injuries
- Common Illnesses
The course includes practical demonstrations and practice periods throughout.
Location
Our open Emergency First Aid at Work courses are held in our training facility at Featherstone House, 375 High St, Rochester, Kent, ME1 1DA
Duration
The HSE requires a minimum of 6hrs contact time, our courses run from 0930hrs – 1700hrs including breaks.
Other info
Attendees must be physically fit and able to carryout CPR on a casualty who is on the floor.
Successful completion of the course will result in the award of a First Aid at Work certificate in accordance with the HSE’s requirements, valid for 3 years
Note: The HSE strongly recommends that Emergency First Aiders attend 3hr annual updates.
