Health and Safety (Level 2)

Designed to ensure that all employees are aware of their own safety and the safety of customers, contractors and the public. It can be tailored to business and individual needs to make the learning experience relevant and fit for purpose.

Who Should Attend

This course will assist anyone with no formal H&S training to understand their own and their employers responsibilities towards the maintenance of a Safe Place of Work, at the same time highlighting the potential hazards faced at work.

Course Content

Employers are responsible for providing safe and healthy workplace conditions as well as the right systems and methods for safe activities. Nevertheless, employees also have a vital part to play in the equation. They need the right knowledge and the right attitude which demands proper training in the basics of health and safety, as well as specific training for individual tasks.

The course will cover, understanding the principles of health and safety and accident prevention, how to contribute to any health and safety management system, understanding the importance of risk assessment as a technique for accident and ill health prevention, the responsibilities placed on employers and employees, hazards, risks and main causes of harm to workers (manual handling, hazardous substances, exposure to noise and vibration), the importance of following systems, procedures and rules, how individual action can reduce risks to health and safety and give an appreciation of how workplace equipment and task design affect health and safety.

Assessment & Award

The course is assessed by a objective multiple-choice examination at the end of the course, candidates will also be expected to be interactive during the course. Successful candidates will be awarded the CIEH Level 2 Award in H&S in the Workplace.

This is a one day event running 9 am – 5 pm.

Venue

We run open CIEH Level 2 Health and Safety courses regularly at our Training Centres in Rochester, Kent and central London, or we are happy to travel to your location if suitable facilities are available.
