Evacuation Sheet for Active Mattresses

This evacuation sheet for active mattresses, has been designed to remain underneath the mattress, ready for rapid evacuation of patients or residents.

In an emergency, it wraps around the patient, cocooning them within the mattress, to form a protective sledge.

Fitted drag loops at both ends allow for rapid evacuation, with the patient being towed from the building. The mattress resting on the sheet allows for the safe transportation of patients down stairs if required.

The evacuation sheet is secured to the mattress by pockets at both ends into which the mattress slips. Each end has holes for the feed tubes meaning it can be placed either way around.

Suitability

Suitable for most alternating mattresses including the Harvest Alternating Mattresses, both replacement and overlay

Evacuation Sheet Maintenance

In normal use your Evacuation sheet for active mattresses does not require any maintenance. Periodic inspection is recommended as accidental damage may have occurred. Attention should be given to stitching, webbing and fabric condition as degradation is possible over an extended period.

Laundering: 

• For light soiling, the evacuation sheet should be wiped clean using a mild detergent.
• If the evacuation sheet becomes heavily soiled, it can be washed in a washing machine. A full decontamination procedure is available from the manufacturer on request.

Important information:

1:  Due to the lifesaving nature of these devices, it is recommended that a separate evacuation mattress is used for drills and training purposes. This will ensure that the mattress used in an emergency has been exposed to minimal wear and tear.

2:  This sheet is suitable for most active mattresses but please ensure the mattress itself can pass through doorways when inflated.
